What is Crack the Code?
Crack the Code is an online treasure hunt designed to reward our sharp‑eyed community. We’ll drop spy‑themed clues on our social channels. Each clue points you to a brand or category on johncraig.co.za. Hidden on those pages are special Crack the Code chips and finding them is your ticket to winning.
Competition Terms and Conditions
- Promoter
The promoter of this competition is John Craig, a division of Blue Falcon Group, whose registered office is 30 O’Connor PIace, Aeroton, Johannesburg South, 2013.
- Competition Period
- The competition runs from 03 November and ends 14 November 2025.
- Winners will be announced on 21 November 2025 (voucher valid from 21 November – 6 December 2025).
- Entries received after the closing date will not be considered.
- Eligibility
This competition is only open to residents of the Republic of South Africa and who are in possession of a valid identity document.
A director, member, partner, spouse, life partner, immediate family member, employee or agent of, or consultant to the Promoters or any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by the Promoters; or
A director, member, partner, spouse, life partner, immediate family member, employee or agent of, or consultant to the supplier of goods or services in connection with the competition; or
Anyone who, within a period of 183 days preceding this competition, has won any competition organised, promoted, or conducted by the Promoters, or who resides at the same address as such a winner, or who uses the same telephone number to enter this competition.
Entrants must have a public social media account on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, or X in order to participate being a mechanism of entry, private accounts are not eligible. The winner is the owner of the social media account.

- How to Enter
- Spot the Crack the Code clue posted on John Craig’s official social media channels, then;
- Visit johncraig.co.za and search the brand or category hinted at in the clue;
- Once found, click on the Crack the Code chip icon, complete the proof card entry (name, surname, social handle), take a screenshot;
- Post the screenshot as a public feed post on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, or X;
- Tag @JohnCraig and use the hashtag #CrackTheCode.
- Each unique proof card screenshot posted = one valid entry.
- Entrants may post multiple times in a single session to increase their chances of winning.
- Prizes
- 2 winners (randomly selected) will each receive a R1000 John Craig shopping vouchers.
- 1 Golden Chip winner (randomly selected) will receive a R3000 John Craig voucher.
- Vouchers are valid from 21 November - 06 December 2025 in-store only.
- Vouchers are valid only on Black Friday Sales Deals and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other products not included in the Black Friday promotion.
- Vouchers are non-transferable and non-exchangeable.
- Winner Selection & Notification
- Winners will be selected from valid entries and announced on John Craig’s official social media channels on 21 November.
- Winners will also be contacted via direct message.
- Winners must present their original John Craig voucher and a valid South African ID in-store to redeem.
- If a winner is non-responsive within 48 hours, John Craig reserves the right to select an alternative winner.
- Golden Chip Rules
- Only one Golden Chip exists on the site.
- The Golden Chip winner will be selected at random from valid entries that discovered and posted the Golden Chip.
- Once a winner has been selected, the Golden Chip will be flagged and removed from the website.
- The Golden Chip prize is limited to one winner and redeemable in-store only.
- General Conditions
- The Promoter (Studio 88 Group of Companies) and its affiliates will collect and use your personal data (name, surname, and social media handle) solely to enable your participation in the Crack the Code competition and for related online activities, including announcing winners publicly.
- Your personal data will be retained only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected or as required by applicable laws or regulations. It will not be used for any other purpose without your prior consent, and no third parties will be permitted to use your personal information.
- By entering, all participants indemnify the Promoter, its advertising agencies, advisers, suppliers, and nominated agents against any and all claims, damages, or losses resulting from their participation in the Crack the Code competition, except where such claims arise from the gross negligence or wilful misconduct of the Promoter.
- The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft, destruction, or unauthorised access to, or alteration of entries.
- The Promoter is not responsible for any technical problems or malfunctions of telephone networks, computer systems, servers, providers, equipment, or software; failure of any entry to be received due to technical issues, human error, or traffic congestion on the internet or any website; or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to a participant’s or any other person’s device related to or resulting from participation in the Crack the Code competition.
- Entrants may choose to be excluded from direct marketing by notifying the Promoter in writing. The Promoter will not charge a fee to update this request and will give effect to any changes requested by you in accordance with applicable law.
- Governing Law
This competition is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
